Hoya Grow Light - HPS Filter Kit (82mm) With 3 Step-Up Rings
Photography
- $169.95
- Capture more accurate color in Grow Houses
- Blocks HPS Color Spike for Easier Color Correction
- Kit includes 3 Step-up rings (67, 72, 82mm) for multiple lenses
The Grow Light HPS filter was engineered for photographers, cinematographers, and social media managers that need to take pictures or video inside "Grow Houses" that use High Pressure Sodium Vapor (HPS) lights to simulate daylight during the plant growing process.
HPS lights emit a very strong and very bright color spike in the 570-590nm (yellow/orange) area of the color spectrum. This is great for growing plants, but horrible for taking pictures. The color is so strong that cameras can't properly color correct it in-camera even using custom white-balance options. We tested many different color-correction options, both in-camera and Raw processing, with varying levels of success without using a filter. Adding the filter, no matter how we chose to WB the room, always produced the best results because the Grow Light HPS filter specifically targets the color spike and blocks it from entering the camera. This allows the camera, phone, or video camera to Auto or Custom white-balance the scene with ease.

Hoya FUSION Antistatic UV Filter (58mm)
Photography
- $39.90
- $16.90
- NEW Antistatic coating repels dust
- Scratch resistant - Hardened coating protects against everyday wear
- Stain resistant - Protects against exposure to ink, markers etc.
- Water repellent - Water beads up and wipes away easily
- Fingerprints and smudges wipe away cleanly
Hoya engineers have developed a new ANTISTATIC coating that acts like a force field around the filter to repel dust. Perfect for environments where dust is common, these filters require less frequent cleaning and maintenance than traditional filters. Additionally, the hardened antistatic top-layer is water repellent, stain and scratch resistant, and cleans easily when smudges or fingerprints are introduced to the surface. The filter's UV properties filter unwanted ultra-violet rays, reducing haze and increasing clarity.
The new FUSION Antistatic professional filters are made in Japan using hand selected silicates that are carefully smelted and blended to produce high performance optical glass. Hoya then uses extreme care and precision to apply the improved 9-layer Super Multi-coating formula which eliminates or greatly reduces reflections on the surface of the glass, resulting in very high light transmission rates. This means that the filter has virtually no effect on the color balance, contrast, or clarity of the final image. The FUSION UV filters feature a lightweight one-piece low-profile aluminum frame to house the glass. This one-piece design allows the filter to maintain perfect parallel alignment to the sensor plane for maximum sharpness, while the low-profile form eliminates vignetting when used on ultra-wide-angle lenses.
