The fast f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also suits creating shallow depth of field, selective focus imagery. Three Super ED elements and one aspherical element help to reduce a variety of aberrations and distortion in order to realize a high degree of sharpness, clarity, and accurate rendering, and a multi-layer HD coating helps to suppress flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy in bright and backlit conditions.
